We take great pride in delivering the highest standards in cleanliness and hygiene. Our team is well-prepared and specifically trained in protocols to ensure a clean, safe and healthy environment for you as our guest. Based on guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control, the California Department of Public Health and the California Hotel & Lodging Association, we have implemented a number of enhanced health and safety measures throughout the property along with an intensified and continuous employee training program. As government and health officials release new guidelines on protocols and social distancing, we will modify with an abundance of caution for the safety of both our guests and our employees. The following outlines the precautionary measures in effect at the property to protect against COVID-19. Each department has its own detailed set of procedures which are based on expert guidance from leaders in sanitization and safety.

Q: How do I get to Scripps Inn?
A: Option 1 – Take I-5 north to La Jolla Parkway exit, turn right on Prospect, right on Cuvier (just past San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art – the cool building with canoes sticking out of it), then left on Coast Blvd.
A: Option 2 – Take I-5 south to La Jolla Village Dr exit, turn right on La Jolla Village Dr, left on Torrey Pines Rd, keep right at the fork, right on Prospect, right on Cuvier (just past San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art) and well, you’ve read the rest already.
A: Option 3 – Take a submarine to Wipe Out Beach, then do your best Ursula Andress in Dr. No impersonation. We’re just up the steps.
Q: Which airport is closest?
A: San Diego International if you’re a typical flyer. McClellan-Palomar if you’re one of those with an option of a private plane.
Q: How do I book a room?

Q: Can I cancel my reservation?
A: Of course. Give us a shout at with at least 24-hour notice before your stay to receive a full refund. After that, we’ll keep the first night’s room rate plus tax that we collect as a deposit when you made the reservation.
Q: Are pets allowed?
A: Unfortunately, at this time we cannot accommodate pets on property. Only service dogs are permitted.
Q: Do you have rollaway beds or cribs?
A: We have cribs, but we do not have rollaway beds. For cribs, just let us know when you book your room.
Q: Can I smoke in the room?
A: No, and if you do, we’ll charge you $100.
Q: Can I vape in the room?
A: That’s smoking.
Q: That’s totally different.
A: No it’s not.
Q: What about pot?
A: That’s smoking, too…
Q: What about on my patio? Or on the lanai?
A: Nope, not there either.
Q: Do you offer in-room dining?
A: As a 14 room hotel, there are no food and beverage outlets on property. However, we are a short 5 to 10 minute walk to over 25 restaurants.
Q: Do you do weddings at Scripps Inn?
A: We do not have any venues on site to host a ceremony or reception. However, we are across the street from Cuvier Park, one of La Jolla’s most popular wedding sites. We are also two blocks away from the Cuvier Club and the Women’s Club – two popular reception sites.
Typically our 14 rooms serve as accommodations for the wedding party and/or “get ready” rooms for ceremonies at Cuvier Park.
Q: What are your check-in and check-out times?
A: Check in time is at 4pm. Check out is 12pm. Please refer to our regular updates on special procedures in place due to COVID-19. You can find those here.
Q: What if I need early check in or late check out?

Q: Is there a charge for parking?
A: $18.00 a night includes parking (have you tried to get a parking spot in La Jolla? This is SO helpful).
Q: Do you have free internet?
A: Yes we have complimentary internet throughout the property.
Q: Who do I contact for maintenance issues or medical emergencies?
A: Maintenance issues that aren’t emergencies will be resolved when the lobby opens at 8:30 am. Emergency issues will be resolved as soon as possible. There’s a staff member on call. Scripps Clinic Urgent Care is open 24 hours and can be reached at 858.554.8638. We ask that you also call our Hotel Manager regarding any medical issue.
